Narrative

Patrolman Edward Nowakowski was killed in a motorcycle accident while he and his partner pursued a traffic violator.

Another vehicle pulled out in front of them at 3rd Street and Winkler Avenue, striking Patrolman Nowakowski head-on.

Patrolman Nowakowski was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was with the department for five (5) years. He is survived by his wife, three (3) sisters, and six (6) brothers.
