Narrative

Patrolman Dolan served with the Louisville Division of Police from August 1903 until his death. Four (4) months before his death, he was shot while on-duty at Mellwood Avenue and Story Avenue while attempting to break up a bar fight. He died as a result of infection and shock due to an amputated leg that had been removed at the hip.

He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Catholic Knights and Ladies of America. His funeral was held at St. Michael Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, brother James Dolan, and sisters Sarah, Margaret, Bridget, and Katherine Dolan.
