Louisville Metro Police Department’s Community Policing Unit is starting a new program, with weekly hiking all of Jefferson County Parks with youth. Parents and family are welcome. (Sorry, pets not included on this one.) This will be a fun and exciting adventure for all, exploring Metro Louisville’s beautiful Park scenery.
First weekday hiking date will be announced one week before hike date in response to your contact email. These hikes are aimed at beginning to intermediate hikers, taking place in a very relaxed and enjoyable environment.
Hikes will be held weather-permitting. Light rain won’t be an issue, but if heavy rains or storms are predicted, the hike will be canceled until the next scheduled event. An email will be sent out in the event of cancellation.
What to Wear & Bring
Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes or boots. Bring a hiking stick if you like. Canteens or water bottles would be a good idea. Use a small backpack if you would like to bring a snack or lunch (lunch is not provided), or need any other items.
Please provide your own transportation to the appropriate central meeting location, which will vary according to hike location.
